In the vast galaxy of photographic art, there are always some photographers who, with their unique perspective and deep emotional resonance, capture the world’s beauty in eternal stillness. Nico Cornet, a French photographer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is one such artist who holds a deep affection for Huangshan. Since his first visit to Huangshan in 2016, he has been captivated by the mountain’s ever-changing landscapes and mysterious atmosphere. This fascination has drawn him back year after year, constantly exploring new effects of light and composition, making Huangshan a recurring source of inspiration in his work.

At the 9th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival, held in Sharjah, UAE in 2025, Nico Cornet made a stunning appearance with his “Huangshan Monochrome” series. Inspired by generations of artists who have immortalized the beauty of Huangshan, he presented 25 carefully selected black-and-white photographs that vividly capture the majestic scenes of mist-shrouded peaks. Through masterful use of light, texture, and contrast, he offers a vivid modern interpretation of traditional Chinese landscape painting, guiding viewers on an artistic journey through the ages.

Now, let us follow Nico'’s photographic lens and experience the beauty of Huangshan through black-and-white imagery in this virtual exhibition.
